Hudson Hawk 2017 Campaign
A campaign to juxtapose the midwestern grit & metropolitan mindset.
In 2017, I worked with Hudson Hawk Barber & Shop, a barbershop with stores all throughout the midwest and growing rapidly. They came on the scene early into the gentleman's rebirth and have adapted effortlessly into the minimalist and masculine environment of the hair and hygiene world of presentWhen I came on as a contracted creative director, the goal was to update their brand with a more intentional form of storytelling and brand consistency. So after working on a brand guide, logo adaptations and a brand refresh, we began working on imagery. This photoshoot was a collaboration between myself and Marc Williams - a brilliant hair artist and creative entrepreneur. I creative directed and photographed the shoot whilst Marc oversaw clothing, hair and makeup and produced. We worked with Baldwin, a midwest-based fashion company that carries the specific grit of the heart of America with their line, something that we wanted within this shoot. The goal was to connect the heart of the heartland with the progression of the millennial mindset - a special juxtaposition yet coalescing between the midwestern grit and grime and metropolitan flare.
